It also appeared in Famitsu's list of 100 best selling Nintendo DS games in their December 2006 issue, ranking in at number 33, with 213,770 copies sold.
Reviews in English-speaking countries for Digimon World DS have generally been favorable, averaging at a 72% on GameRankings.com.
IGN.com reviewer Jack DeVries claims that "...despite its derivative nature and somewhat mediocre elements, it's still a lot of fun..." and recommends the game "...for players that are dying to get their monster battling RPG fix", also meriting it for its humorous scriptwriting and unique method of collecting Digimon, giving it a final score of 7.5/10. Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
![[Bild: 150px-Dragon_Quest_IV_Box_Art.jpg]](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/dd/Dragon_Quest_IV_Box_Art.jpg/150px-Dragon_Quest_IV_Box_Art.jpg) Zitat:As of August 8, 2008, the DS remake has sold 1.15 million units in Japan.Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen was a nominee for Best RPG on the Nintendo DS in IGN's 2008 video game awards. The game has sold 1.46 million copies worldwide as of May 31, 2009. Critics pointed out that the game may feel outdated, especially to players not accustomed to Dragon Quest games, but that some of the characters, such as Ragner, make the game stand out of the recent JRPGs. "Ragnar McRyan is in no way a character designed off the back of some intense Japanese schoolgirl demographic focus testing", wrote Eurogamer.net's Simon Parkin, pleased.
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride
![[Bild: 225px-DQ5BoxArt.png]](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/69/DQ5BoxArt.png/225px-DQ5BoxArt.png) Zitat:The Nintendo DS remake of Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride is the seventh best-selling game of Japan in 2008, selling 1,176,082 copies. The game has sold 1.35 million copies worldwide. It has been called one of the best RPGs on the DS and has been said to have "some of the best story telling on the system". Although critics agreed that the game's interface feels archaic and overly simple at times, many cite that the emotional plot more than makes up for the game's flaws, stated that it is one of the "greatest classic RPGs". Other critics note that this installment of the series particularly stands out from the rest because of its story telling, differentiating it from other Dragon Quest games, which are all very similar. The updated 3D environments with rotable camera have also received praise.
]Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
Zitat:Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker received fairly decent scores overall, gaining an average of 76% on Metacritic. Gamespot's Austin Shau gave the game a 7.5/10, or "Good", with mostly positive comments, but advised users to approach the intense level-grinding with caution. IGN gave a similar score, 7.9, citing the game's excellent graphics and over all quality. IGN stated that the game "should definitely surprise some newcomers to the franchise in the sheer amount of depth and versatility it presents." Nintendo Power gave the game 8/10, and defended Joker, saying it was not just a Pokémon pretender. Similarly, GameSpy gave Joker an 8/10, and enforced the idea that the game is more than just a copy of Pokémon. Gamezone also gave the game a positive review with a score of 8/10. However, GamePro, who gave Joker a 3.25/5, felt the game was just "another monster catch-and-battle game" along the lines of Pokémon. The review also cited the Scouting to be tricky and that the battle camera can be annoying. Game Informer gave the game 8/10, with the game receiving the "Handheld Game of the Month" for the December 2006 issue. Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu gave the game a positive review with a total score of 36/40.[21]

Mega Man Star Force
Zitat:Among the three versions of Star Force, the version dragon is the most popular in terms of sales while the Leo version is the least popular. According to weekly sales report for Star Force's first week out, none of the three versions placed in the top 10. While Pegasus barely ranked in the top 20 by placing the 20th spot, Dragon and Leo both fell short by placing spots 23 and 26, respectively. The titles continued to plummet down to the 30th spots the following week. Reviews from popular Japanese gaming sources, such as Famitsu gave the game an overall score of 32 out of 40, indicating that the games are getting good reception based on content. However, bad sales may be attributable to it having been released so closely to seventh generation console releases.
IGN gave Star Force a 5.2/10, their main concern being the game's lack of innovative gameplay and being almost identical to Battle Network. GameSpot gave the game a 6.0, citing the game's similarities to the Battle Network games as a down point, despite saying it had "minor improvements", the friend system being one of them.
Nintendo Power, however, ranked the game a 7.5/10 for its new battle system but citing the same old look in non-battle scenes.
Phantasy Star 0
Zitat:Phantasy Star 0 received 33 out of 40 from Famitsu magazine, which praised the game's controls, game play, and online mode, noting "it really feels like an online game in the palm of your hand." The publication criticized the game's "softness of the sound." Nintendo Power gave the game 8 out of 10 with good remarks towards the game, but heavily criticized the menu setup and the loss to change weapons during gameplay. Phantasy Star 0 sold approximately 84,055 copies during its debut week in Japan.[7]

Soma Bringer
![[Bild: 250px-Somabringer_boxart.png]](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/d4/Somabringer_boxart.png/250px-Somabringer_boxart.png) Zitat:Sales for Soma Bringer were initially strong in Japan at 51,000 units sold in the first week. The following week, the game sold an additional 17,000 units.
Consumer reaction has been quite positive, many praising the frantic yet fun battle system and well developed characters. The artwork however, despite being recognized as well designed, is almost universally panned for the poor quality illustrations included in the game.
Famitsu magazine scored the game at 8/8/8/8 (32/40)
Reviewer(1): Story’s great but the customization is the heart of the game. Rare item drops invokes feelings of Diablo. Orbs can be used to enhance weapons. The motivation in the game is to build a solid character. Together with the action elements of the game, the tempo is great.
Reviewer(2): While the story and gameplay are nothing really new, it is something that anyone can enjoy with a depth in the character selection and abundance of items. It is balanced such that you require some skill to play. I feel that some maps are a little too big.
Reviewer(3): In additional to the main quest, there are lots of other quests in the game. You can develop your own character by picking what battle style and abilities suit you best. Whether you play alone or with friends, the game scenario is the same. When playing multiplayer, being able to separate from the screen your friends are on is a very welcome addition.
Reviewer(4): You can easily execute complex attacks with easy control, even so the strategy level is high. The interface and UI is very well designed and leaves the player stress free. From character development to leveling up, there are lots of areas to enjoy for the player. The combat is extremely enjoyable.
Tales of Innocence
Zitat:ales of Innocence received a 9/9/9/8 (35/40) score from Famitsu. The game was the third best-selling title in Japan during its week of release at 104,000 copies. Media Create sales data shows that by the end of the following year, Tales of Innocence had sold 246,420 copies in Japan.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Zitat:The several versions of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney have been very successful. In Japan, the original Game Boy Advance version sold 58,877 units to date, and the Japan-only budget-priced version of it sold significantly more, selling 129,630 units. The Nintendo DS version sold 128,842 units, while its Japan-only budget-priced version sold 148,552 units. By the end of 2007, the Japan-only budget-priced version has sold 254,681 copies, with 141,681 sold in that year and 130,020 the year prior.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney was very hard to find in stores shortly after its North American release because of a shortage, owing to the unexpectedly high demand for it. Capcom shipped more units in March 2006. They later issued a new shipment in June 2006, which sold out within a week. As of February 2007, Capcom has shipped 100,000 copies of Phoenix Wright.
The game received generally favorable reviews, holding an aggregate score of 81/100 and 82% from Metacritic and Game Rankings respectively. IGN's Craig Harris commented that the game was "harshly linear," yet "interesting and well-written." He believed the script was "dumbed down" in contrast to an actual justice system, although the game does reflect Japanese courtroom proceedings. 1UP's Shane Bettenhausen thought the game had an "entertaining, well-localized story" and "climactic courtroom 'battle scenes'." GameSpot's Carrie Gouskos thought the game's presentation was "unique and outstanding," though she also criticized its linearity, saying that "all choices inevitably lead to the same result."

Official Nintendo Magazine gave the game a score of 76%, praising the game's uniqueness, humour and "fantastically stylised graphics", but criticizing it for dull dungeon design and a poor battle system.
In its first week of release, it sold more than 45,000 units in Japan. It was the 57th best-selling game of 2006 in Japan, selling 207,525 units. It was the 478th best-selling game of 2007, selling 21,295 units in that year for a total of 234,862 units as of 2007. IGN ranked the cover art the scariest cover art in gaming.
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Zitat:The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks received the "Best Handheld Game" award at Gamescom 2009. The game was also selected by IGN as their "Best of Gamescom 2009" winner for the Nintendo DS.
It was given 91% in the December 2009 issue of the UK Official Nintendo Magazine who said "It's rammed to the gills with side-quests, secret areas and collectibles to find" and also stated that "although not a huge leap forward in the series, its still a great Zelda game nonetheless."
NGamer magazine gave it 92%, stating that the game "takes the bane of our traveling life and turns it into a grand adventure."[citation needed]
Edge gave it 8/10, saying "Spirit Tracks' aging tricks continue to carry you back into the narcotic realms of pure ritual, until you're deep in the caverns yet again, holding the magic yellow boomerang once more, and wondering what quirky brilliance it will bring with it this time".
GameTrailers gave the game a score of 9.0, saying it fixes Phantom Hourglass's shortcomings and holds up as one of the better titles of the series.
Game Informer's staff reviewer Andrew Reiner gave the game a score of 8.0/10, stating that "Spirit Tracks is [his] least favorite Zelda title yet," claiming that the train segments are restrictive, and are thus detrimental to the trademark exploration aspect of the series. He did, however, concede that it is still a "good game."
IGN gave the game a rating of 9.3/10, higher than Phantom Hourglass which received a score of 9.0/10.

They bemoaned the fact that players may only download 100 songs and cannot delete them, they praised it for having a "remarkably generous library." They also praised its Wii Channel, praising it as an excellent use of the Wii compared to how Wii games such as Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii use it.[2] IGN praised it as well, calling it an "enjoyable music game packed with value and personality".

Zitat:Critical reaction to the game has been positive. IGN gave a score of 8 out of 10, stating "It's a fairly long and deep experience, though it's by no means a perfect game. However, the good certainly outweighs the bad, and we can't help but recommend this game as a result." Sonic Rush Adventure
Zitat:Sonic Rush Adventure was a critical and commercial success. Noticeable improvements over Sonic Rush were fewer bottomless pits, better enemy placement, and no more use of supporting characters to occupy the lower screen during boss battles. However, many reviewers commented on having to replay levels multiple times, and weakness in the story sections. Game Rankings currently scores it 80% based on 33 reviews.
Sonic Rush Adventure also won IGN's Best Platform Game of 2007 for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Official Magazine's Gold Award, which was featured in the European cover.
Yoshi's Island DS
Zitat:Yoshi's Island DS's reception was positive, being given high scores by some of the most prominent video game critics. These include gaming websites IGN and GameSpot, who gave it 8/10 and 9.1/10 respectively. GameSpot's review commented that the developers have "produced a sequel that seems fresh and new while remaining every bit as awesome as the original". Multimedia website IGN called it "a solid recreation of the Yoshi's Island elements in a two-screen-high format," and GamePro in their review said that "it's fun and light-hearted play". Reviewers were particularly pleased with how the core gameplay elements are the same as in the previous game. GamePro hails it as having "the classical 2D side-scrolling action and colorful pastel artwork that brought Nintendo to prominence", while IGN, although impressed with the game in general, wonders whether the developers "stuck too close to the established design in this new game", because having played the previous game "ruins a lot of the surprises". Other critics regard this as the best portable Yoshi's Island game (with the exception of the Super Mario Advance remake of the original Yoshi's Island) because in their context, "(Yoshi) Topsy-Turvy was not there and (Yoshi) Touch & Go was incomplete."
One problem critics identified is the blind spot created by the gap between the Nintendo DS's two screens. IGN accepts that this blind spot is necessary for aiming eggs properly but still describe it as "bothersome". GameSpy's reviewer calls it "a pain" and expresses frustration at being hit by an enemy hiding in this gap. On the whole, reviewers were pleased with the way the extra babies have been implemented, but IGN felt that Baby Wario was "a last minute addition that wasn't tested properly". They call his magnet "wonky", and says it "misses items that are right next to him".
Yoshi's Island DS was given GameSpot's "Editor's Choice" rating, and reached the final round for "Best Nintendo DS game".[8] The game sold more than 300,000 copies in its first week of release in Japan. As of March 31, 2008, Yoshi's Island DS has sold 2.91 million copies worldwide.

![[Bild: Ytagbox.jpg]](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/4c/Ytagbox.jpg)
[quote]The game was generally well received, though not as positive as earlier games of the Yoshi series, such as Yoshi's Island. It holds an average rating of 8.1/10 and 7.7/10 respectively at IGN, as well as an average rating of 7.8/10 and 7.5/10 respectively at GameSpot. Craig Harris of IGN said it "is one of the most original and unique games created for the system so far, and it's truly a design that's unlike anything you've played before." He especially commended the multiplayer mode and gave the game an 8.8/10. Additionally, it won the IGN Editors' Choice Award on March 11, 2005.
Some reviewers, however, criticised Yoshi Touch & Go for its lack of storyline and the simple gameplay. Also, the game gathered negative criticism for its price, which was found too high by some critics. Nevertheless, Touch & Go was a middle success, selling 197,337 copies in Japan
